These stories come straight from the Bible. The classic King James translation has been updated slightly to match today's English. The Word of God has not been changed in this update. It is not a new translation, only a common sense adjustment of the English to fit the way we talk and write today. Even with the changes to the English, this remains an old document. The wording may seem strange to you. The use of past and present tense is sometimes different. The difference in tenses is partly because of the difference in the way the tense is used in English and the way it was used in the Greek Bible.
These stories are easy to read for those studying English as a second language. They are harder than other easy English stories. They will be good practice as you improve your skills. You can find the meanings of some words after each story. The part of the story from the Bible is printed in bold print. The title, introduction, and helpful information in italics at the beginning and end are not from the Bible.
The King James Bible has been a very important book in English. It has shaped the way people use the language. It has also shaped the way many people think.
I plan to add other stories straight from the Bible soon
